Meet the 2012-2013 Lakes Area MOPS Steering Team!
Cassey Johnson – Coordinator
I am a stay-at-home mother of 2, Gabrielle, 5, and Ethan, 1 1/2. I have been married 3 years this October to my amazing husband Joey. We moved to Alexandria 3 years ago this December and have loved every minute. I joined MOPS the January after moving here and I have loved every meeting! I have made so many friends through MOPS. They are such an amazing group of women. Also I love to do any thing artsy and crafty; when I have free time :). I can’t wait to meet all of you this year!
Steph Tvrdik – MOPPETS Coordinator
After three years of serving as the MOPS Coordinator, I’m thankful to have a wonderful woman like Cassey step into place. While she’s busy heading up what you moms are up to at the MOPS meetings, I’ll be making arrangements for your kiddos — a safe, fun environment for each child in our MOPPETS program.
Outside of MOPS, my life is blessed with two part-time jobs that (mostly) work around my kids’ schedules. Brad and I just celebrated our 10th anniversary and are happy to be raising our sons on the farm, where I enjoy mowing lawn and gardening (flowers and vegetables).
Kirsten Vaagenes – Mentor Mom
My husband and I, along with our two teen children, moved to Alexandria over a year ago. I am the “family manager” of our home and enjoy the variety of activities that each day brings. I love to read, scrapbook, bike, and go for walks.
Jaci Loween – Discussion
I am currently a stay-at-home mom of three lovies: Jacob (6), Moriah (3), and Elim Jo(9mo). My husband and I recently celebrated 9 years of marriage. In 2012 we moved back to Alexandria (my husband’s “hometown”) after serving in South Korea as teachers and dorm parents for 7 years. So I am still getting used to being an American Mom and having time for homemaking activities. Most recently, a majority of my time has been spent gardening, harvesting and processing food. I also need to run to keep from going crazy, so I can be found at the Y or on the bike trail often. I look forward to facilitating quality, meaningful discussions that can help us all as moms grow closer to each other and love Jesus and others more through our time together.
Kaylee Emter – Finance
I have been married to my highschool sweetheart for 9 years and I am a mother of three children-a 6 year old girl, a 4 year old boy, and an 18 month old girl. I love being able to stay at home with our children, but also enjoy being able to work a few hours a week from home helping my husband with bookkeeping for the family business. I have really enjoyed my time with MOPS and have met so many great mothers who have shared valuable wisdom with me! In my free time I enjoy to shop (and coupon), read, and spend time at the lake.
I am from Langdon, North Dakota. I met my handsome hubby Mitch while we were both going to school at U of M- Duluth 8 years ago. I received my degree in English and Journalism. We have been married for 4 years this past August. We have a 2 year old son Braddock and our second baby is due February 1st. We moved to Alexandria just over a year ago for Mitch’s job.
I enjoy books, coffee, decor blogs, baking, days spent with my boys and meeting new people! I have been with Premier for 4 years, I love getting out and meeting new women and the fact that it has allowed me to be a stay-at-home mom! My husband and I enjoy being outdoors and doing couples Bible study together.
I am looking forward to a great year with MOPS, leading the craft and getting to know every mom better.
