Welcome to Lakes Area MOPS! I’m so glad that despite your busy schedule, you have chosen to come alongside other moms, so we can build each other up as women, as mothers, friends and as leaders.

Moms have so many choices: work, stay home, public or home school, and many battle with the whole quality vs. quantity of time spent with their children. This fall brings our first ever evening MOPS meeting. I’m hopeful that this can help us bridge the gaps between the “working” moms and “stay-at-home” moms. We have different situations, different kids, different stressors; but we all desire to be the best moms we can be.

Proverbs 8:10 instructs us to “Choose discipline over silver and knowledge over the finest gold.” You are making an investment in yourself, your family and your relationships by choosing to be part of the mothering community we call MOPS.

]]> Even if you’re in denial, the seasons are changing and fall is upon us. And as we’re settling into our new routines, whether it’s getting kids off to school or homeschooling, stop and take a moment to mark Tuesday, September 18th on your calendar.

Yep – it’s the first ever Lakes Area MOPS evening meeting! We’ll be starting at 6:30 p.m. so come a few minutes early to get your kiddos settled in MOPPETS and join us for some fun and fellowship with some friends – old and new.

Get registered, if you haven’t already. The Steering Team Leaders are all working diligently to accommodate for childcare and creative activities but we need to know who’s coming (especially kiddos!).

]]> Okay, I know we all hate all the paperwork that comes along with being a mom, but this is really, really helpful as we plan for our fall semester. As much as we’d love to have a head’s up on how many moms to expect at our first meeting, it’s imperative to plan for the kids in MOPPETS.

We’ll try to fulfill the quota with volunteers, but if not, guess who’s going to be watching the kids? That’s right – you moms! So hurry up and register; heck, even recommend a MOPPETS volunteer! Your referral could get you out of the MOPPETS Lottery for the whole year, so you can do what you want – visit with the other moms at the MOPS meetings!

Registration is OPEN – help us by registering early! Thanks. Looking forward to seeing you at our kickoff meeting – Tuesday, September 18th at 6:30 p.m. (our first evening meeting too!)
